Pat Robertson Suggests Viewer Become Muslim, Beat Wife

The controversial televangelist suggested that a caller move to Saudi Arabia, ostensibly so he can legally beat his non-submissive, disrespectful spouse.
On Monday's broadcast of his show The 700 Club, viewer Michael asked for marital advice, as his wife "has no respect for me as the head of the house."
Robertson's take: "Well, you could become a Muslim and you could beat her."
Robertson's co-host, Terry Meeuwsen, laughed at this. He wasn't done either.
"I don’t think we condone wife-beating these days but something has got to be done to make her," he said, calling the unnamed woman a "rebellious child."
Since the Bible doesn't allow for divorce, Robertson urged they "move to Saudi Arabia," where, ostensibly, beating her would be more socially permissible.
So, there's your free advice Michael. Good thing this guy doesn't have a huge audience and isn't a widely respected figure among many ... never mind.

Looks like none of you have ever heard of sarcasm. He doesn't agree with wife beating, he was being sarcastic. He isn't a comedian but he was trying to be funny. It was just a joke for Pete's sake. Calm down sheesh.
wow, really? how effing ignorant is this? and why is he even on the damn channel? I think enough people beat their wives up in USA alone and they are not even relgiious, so why the hell does the caller need to move to a different country? and what makes muslims or middle east special? violence against women, married or unmarried happen in every damn place and religion on this planet. the caller needs an effing psychiatrist, not a change of religion and place. And while he is at it, he can take pat assholeterson with him.
