Happy 50th Birthday, Tom Cruise!

In light of recent events, Tom Cruise's 50th birthday is likely a more somber one than he'd have hoped, but we still wish the movie star nothing but the best.

Cruise jumps on couches, gets married a lot, loves Scientology and shares opinions on political and social issues that many consider out of the mainstream.

We know this. But what's really wrong with the guy? He's been one of Hollywood's biggest stars for almost three decades now and is basically harmless.

The Tom Cruise-Katie Holmes divorce bombshell is generating a lot of bad PR for him these days, so let's take a moment and wish him a happy big 5-0.

Tom Cruise is 50 years old today. Man, has the actor ever aged well.

From Risky Business to A Few Good Men, the Mission: Impossible series, Tropic Thunder and most recently Rock of Ages, he's among the biggest stars of all time.

For good reason. On a purely professional level, Cruise may be peerless.

So cheers, Tom, even if Born on the Third of July doesn't have quite the same ring to it. Many happy returns, keep your chin up and keep up the awesome work.
