Joe Flacco is hoping to work out a new deal with the Baltimore Ravens prior to the start of the 2012 NFL season and, in an interview with local radio station WNST 1570 today, said he didn't want to be paid like a very good quarterback.
He wants to get paid like the very best in football.
"I think I'm the best," Flacco said. "I don't think I'm top five, I think I'm the best. I don't think I'd be very successful at my job if I didn't feel that way. I mean, c'mon? That's not really too tough of a question."
Eli Manning made similar waves about a year ago when he said he considered himself an "elite" signal caller, and then proceeded to scoff at the critics who believed otherwise, leading the Giants to the Super Bowl title.
So should Baltimore start planning a victory parade for February 2013 now? You tell us: Who is the best quarterback in the NFL?
