In what’s surely being built up as a publishing scandal (by us, but what’s your point?) but likely to fizzle out with an out of court agreement, the Boston magazine vs. Jason Binn saga continues. Today we’ve got party staple Binn speaking on the record about Boston‘s allegations that his Niche Media stole their advertiser database – though he says he hasn’t even seen any legal papers about the matter.
We’ll spare you the standard “we didn’t do nothin’ wrong ya’ll” quotes and brief you on the least boring one: “I thought Boston was a town that relishes competition.” Snap, you got ’em Binn!
In other news, Jason has once again changed the name of his new Boston title, which debuts in September (you know, any court injunctions notwithstanding). It’s gone from Boston Commonwealth to Commonwealth and will, for now, be titled Boston Common – like that big green space they try to compare to Central Park.
And thank goodness they kept “Boston” in the name, otherwise the socialites might have trouble picking out which Niche title – among Gotham, Hamptons, Los Angeles Confidential and Aspen Peak – is for them.
