Katy Perry, still unsettled over the fact that her husband Russell Brand filed for divorce, has decided that she’ll skip her planned appearance at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles on Wednesday for the People’s Choice Awards.
She tweeted her regrets, though she didn’t cite a specific reason for her change of heart:
Just two days ago the Teenage Dream singer sent forth a Twitter rant in the face of some bad press involving her decidedly vocal pastor parents. The message was quite clear, “NO ONE speaks for me… including my family.”
The songstress is up for awards in five categories: Favorite Song of the Year for E.T. featuring Kanye West, Favorite Music Video for Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.), Favorite Tour Headliner, Favorite Female Artist and Favorite Pop Artist.
