Despite her young age, Miley Cyrus, 19, and boyfriend of 3 years, Liam Hemsworth, 22, are engaged to be married.
Their reps confirmed the engagement and Miley told PEOPLE, “I’m so happy to be engaged and look forward to a life of happiness with Liam.”
The couple met on the set of ‘The Last Song’ in 2009 and began a relationship with one bump in the road, a one-month split in August 2010.
The Australian actor proposed to Cyrus on May 31, 2012 with a 3.5 carat Neil Lane diamond ring that has a “vintage, retro-glam look.”
Hemsworth is currently filming ‘Empire State’ in New Orleans and Miley is back home in the studio working on her new album.
Rumors were flying in March that the two were engaged after she posted a photo of her new manicure. On her ‘ring’ finger she was sporting an impressive sparkler.
