The dust has yet to settle following Bill O’Reilly‘s Thursday stint on the ABC morning talk show The View. During a heated debate about a proposed mosque near Ground Zero, Joy Behar and Whoopi Goldberg stomped off in protest, much to the displeasure of their boss Barbara Walters.
O’Reilly has some interesting afterthoughts that he shared his Fox News show The O’Reilly Factor Thursday night. He said: “I am not in the business of sugar coating harsh realities … I enjoy jousting with The View ladies because, with the exception of Elisabeth Hasselbeck, they don’t see it my way. I loved that exposition today. Didn’t you.”
Laura Ingraham appeared with O’Reilly, and managed to sling some in-your-face salvos in Behar’s direction – see video below.
During the heated exchange on The View, Hasselbeck tried to soften O’Reilly’s rationale with a slam at Obama: “Do you think the problem, if we go back in time, early in the administration, the president himself said we weren’t allowed to use the word terrorist early on. Then he started saying radical islamists. Then there was a closer association with what happened and the religion. I think if he would have just let us say terrorists, because there are terrorists across all religions and all faiths, then this wouldn’t even be a problem.”
Behar used her Thursday night HLN-CNN show as a bully pulpit too. She said she was “really angry … I thought he was saying something that I construe as hate speech, frankly. To say Muslims were responsible for 9/11, to lump an entire group like that, is wrong.”
