After five seasons as the voice of reason on The Real Housewives of New Jersey, Caroline Manzo has left one series for another. Her own.
In an attempt to offer up more family friendly fare for her fans, Manzo’d With Children Season 1 Episode 1 premiered last night and featured Mama Manzo taking her daughter shopping for a wedding dress.

Many Manzo fans will remember Lauren as Caroline’s overweight daughter who lacked confidence. After lap-band surgery and a breast reduction, Lauren has come into her own, opened a beauty bar, and is now preparing to walk down the aisle to marry her long-term boyfriend, Vito.
Caroline is with her every step of the way, just like a good mother should be, even when Lauren decides to get Botox injections in her armpits to control excessive sweating.
Caroline thinks that perhaps Lauren should just, you know, use deodorant (like she isn’t doing that already) but still stands by her daughter when Lauren makes a different choice.
When Greg comes into town, Caroline, Lauren, and the bridesman all go wedding dress shopping. Once again we see Caroline being a typical and supportive Mother of the Bride and bursting into tears at the site of her baby girl in a wedding gown.
Awww!! You have to watch Manzo’d With Children online to see that moment!
After doing a little dress shopping, the focus of the episode turned away from Lauren’s previous issues with weight and fitness and toward Caroline’s. She’s not one to take the quick and easy way out, which is at least part of the reason people love her.
Instead of having a breast reduction or liposuction after very scientifically* proving that her bubbies are super heavy, Caroline decides to focus on fitness to tone up before Lauren’s big day.
She tries exercising with Jacqueline and heads to bootcamp with Albie after threatening to throw out all the junk food her sons have brought into her house. The Manzo children take mom flying on a trapeze to help her conquer her fear of heights and somehow this relates to her quest for fitness.
It’s sweet if a bit out of place. The message is clear, Caroline Manzo is on top of the world in her new series.
