November sweeps are coming and Scandal Season 4 Episode 7 is turning up the heat in preparation. The walls are closing in on Rowan Pope and fans are eager to see how he’ll weasel his way out of things now that Olivia and Fitz know that Jake is innocent.

How do they know Jake is innocent? Because Olivia made Tom sing like a canary!

Knowing that there was no way she’d get in to see Jake, despite repeated pleas to Fitz, Olivia changed tactic and called David to ask for help seeing Tom. Once there, he waxed on about how beautiful she was before finally laying it out for her that all she’s ever been to her father is someone to control.

Olivia told Tom to watch his back because Rowan wouldn’t let a loose end continue to dangle and walked out. Later, Tom was stabbed in his cell.

That was Olivia Pope’s doing. She took a page out of the Rowan Pope Handbook for Getting People To Do Things and had the man stabbed by a corrections officer so that he would confess the truth. It worked!

Tom spilled his story that Rowan had Jerry killed in retaliation for Fitz and Olivia’s relationship and now Jake, Fitz, and Olivia are working together to take Rowan down. Pretty excited to watch Scandal online and see how that plays out!

But Jake’s incarceration wasn’t even the focus of the episode. That honor goes to Abby, whose ex-husband ended up running for US Senate. Briefly, at least.

Chip Putney managed a Senatorial bid when the previous Senator was caught on tape with a prostitute. Abby didn’t want to reveal to the world that he abused her to the point of nearly killing her, but she did open up to Leo about her past, which led to a nice little moment between the two of them after he tanked his own client’s campaign.

And speaking of sinking ships, Michael and Elizabeth are going down. The jig is up! Cyrus Beene knows he’s been had and he’s ready to go political animal on the both of them.

THAT will be amazing to see.
