Katy Perry took home the award for best female singer at the 2013 MTV EMA music awards on Sunday, besting Lady Gaga and Miley Cyrus for the honor.
Cyrus stole the show at the European Music Awards, however, by lighting up a joint on stage in a nod to Amsterdam’s lax attitude regarding drug use.
Miley had earlier been photographed in one of the Dutch city’s best-known coffee shops where soft core drugs are on the menu. So she had fun.
Claiming her third EMA award, Katy Perry gave a dramatic rendition of her song "Unconditionally" (above), while Miley Cyrus won best video for "Wrecking Ball."
While Justin Timberlake and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis went in with the most nominations on the men’s side, Eminem arguably had the best evening.
The rapper was given a "Global Icon" prize for lifetime achievement along with best hip-hop honors, proving that his game is very much still relevant.
