The woman, a high-powered banker who earns more than $600,000 a year, said she tried to spice up her love life with the aid of E.L. James’ novel.

The plan backfired, however, when her “boring” husband accused her of “unreasonable behavior.” Maybe he was just repulsed by the abysmal writing quality?

The 41-year-old’s lawyer said it was the first time someone cited the book - dubbed “mommy porn” for its content and intended audience - in a divorce petition.

“She thought their sex life had hit a rut - he never remembered Valentine’s Day or complimented her on her appearance,” divorce lawyer Amanda McAlister said.

The client and her soon-to-be former husband's names were not released.

McAlister said the wife bought sexy underwear to entice her husband into making love, but he never even complimented her on her appearance.

“The woman had also been reading the book and wanted to spice up her love life,” McAlister said. “She thought their sex life had been in a rut."

When the wife pressed her husband to try out some of the action from the book, “he went ballistic” and blamed her for their marital meltdown, McAlister said.

“It’s all because you have been reading that bloody book,” the husband said.

While that guy should totally lighten up and give it a shot, the book isn't exactly the biggest turn-on for everyone. Exhibit A: Ellen reading excerpts below.
