Australian actress Abbie Cornish first rose to prominence as a co-star in a real-life domestic drama involving then-married Ryan Phillippe and Reese Witherspoon.

Cornish, 27, and Phillippe, 34, met on the set of the movie Stop-Loss, and today they share a home in L.A. – “where it was love that brought me here, not work.”

“I think the city feels and looks a little bit different because of that.”

Reese Witherspoon has publicly called divorce humiliating and isolating, Cornish tells W Magazine, saying that she was “cast as the culprit.” As a result, she’s looking back on the period when the spotlight fell on her as “a really difficult time.”

Abbie Cornish is contemplative in W Magazine.

Out of nowhere, the actress reflects, she was forced to enter a realm of paparazzi and celebrity gossip coverage “that I had never been exposed to. In a normal successful career, someone usually learns these things bit by bit.”

“For me, it was like night and day,” Abbie Cornish continued. “I woke up one day and there was this whole new thing I had to process and deal with.”

Since then, Abbie has moved in with Phillippe and spends time with his and Reese’s children: Ava, 9, and Deacon, 5. Glad to hear it worked out!
