Give me a new diva in the mold of Whitney, Mariah, Celine, etc. any day. Everyone's going to have their own favorite genres but I'd pay a premium price for their concerts. I can catch acoustic guitar soloists for free at the bar. ---> actually this a very good point. I love acoustic also but it's true, I wouldn't want to purchase expensive tickets to see an acoustic guitar man perform because I can just go to a bar. The vocal range and talent Jessica has is actually very different and cannot be learned and developed easily. I love Phillip as well and I think he's talented, I do like his style, but people should not say Jessica is just another wannabe diva because she is not. I believe with the right material she can sore to the highest heavens! I'd pay any amount just to see her perform. What she needs to improve on now is her stage presence, she used to have one before Idol, dunno what happened. BB Chez suddenly disappeared midway thru the competition.
Dolly Parton would be proud of the delivery of her song. I will Always Love You was written and performed by Dolly Parton. Whitney remade it with The Bodyguard. But Dolly's version still gives me the chills and this young girl Jessica did Dolly justice!
Can't say I like Phillip Phillip's style of music. I can't sit through any Dave Matthews songs or similar types of singers at the local nightclubs. They just bore me.
