Taco Bell fans, rejoice at the breaking news that just hit the Interwebs:

Doritos Locos Tacos in Cool Ranch flavor will be launched March 7.

The rollout of the new variety comes a year after the Doritos Locos Tacos were launched in a Nacho Cheese flavor and the Bell sold 350 million units.

CEO Greg Creed Doritos Locos Tacos now account for about a quarter of all taco sales, and he plans keep introducing new Doritos flavors as well.

Next up is a “Flamas” flavor, a Doritos variety already sold in select regions of the U.S. with higher Hispanic populations. We’re guessing it’s spicy?

The tacos have helped the chain stage a comeback after a lawsuit in 2011 alleging Taco Bell beef shouldn’t be labeled as such because of “other ingredients.”

The suit was later dropped, but the damage? Done.

Taco Bell had originally planned to release the Cool Ranch variety last year, but held back after the Nacho Cheese flavor got such a strong response.

Creed said Nacho Cheese was chosen as the first variety last year because it’s the #1 Doritos flavor, while Cool Ranch is second-most popular.

Creed said Frito-Lay had to build special equipment to make the shells, which use a special formula to make them crunchier and are dusted with Doritos flavoring.

Mmm. Delish. Well done Taco Bell and Doritos. Not as wholesome and comforting as this bruschetta burger recipe, but still. Delish nonetheless.
