Melissa Rycroft didn't want your pity when Jason Mesnick broke her heart on national television, and she doesn't want it now that she finished third on Dancing with the Stars.
"I wanted that mirrorball trophy, I really did," the beauty told Us Weekly. "But I don't need it because I know I've accomplished more than I ever thought I could."
After all, how can Rycroft complain? Considering where she's been over the last year, Melissa is just grateful to have been one of the final three competitors, along with champion Shawn Johnson and Sex and the City star Gilles Marini.
"Never in a million years did I imagine I'd be dancing with an Olympian and someone who was in a blockbuster movie. My life in the past 11 months has changed so much."
Will it change more in the future? Will Rycroft pursue other headline-making activities or roles?
"I really don't know. I'm not going to pursue anything right now, but if things come my way I will look into them. Never say never!"
We won't, M Ry. In the meantime, relive this star's journey on DWTS by clicking on the images below...

Sympathy votes did not get Melissa to the finals. The fact that she is amazing on the dance floor did. Looked forward to each night DWTS was on because of Melissa & Tony.

It's not fair that she didn't win. She was the best and everyone could see that if they followed dwts. This show was probably bought anyway. The audience all texted for her to win and I feel sorry for them waisting their money because they planned on having Johnson win anyway.

Don't for once think that the audience all voted for Melissa. I for one certainly did not. Nor did she deserve to win!! She didn't deserve Jason either and I'm glad he dumped her. The months between the taping and the actual show told him all he needed to know about her. He wanted a wife and a mother to his little boy. All she wanted for her self-centered self was fame and fortune. He found out that she had posed nude for Playboy (the pictures are on the internet); she was then a Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader and soon after being rejected by Jason she was dancing away without ever looking back on "Dancing With The Stars". Some broken heart!!! Now she's engaged to an on again, off again boyfriend. She was probably seeing him while engaged to Jason. Who knows? And why would her parents who were such private people not even meet her possible future husband yet they were in the audience every night she went dancing with the Stars? Seems odd to me. Now she has this "nothing" job on GMA but girls like her will manage to keep their names in the news no matter what they have to do or what they have to take off. I really liked her when the Bachelor first started and was all in favor of her, after Jillian, but since learning all that I have I know what she's all about "self" and Jason learned that also. He's a decent guy. He'd already been through one bad marriage and had a child. He didn't need that again. Thank God he found out before it was too late.
