Tommy Chong has been diagnosed with prostate cancer and has formulated his own treatment plan.
He is one half of the marijuana-loving comedy duo “Cheech and Chong” and revealed in a recent interview that his diagnosis came a month ago.
The comedian told CNN’s Don Lemon that he is currently using a cannabis by-product to treat the “slow stage one” cancer.
Chong reports, “I’m treating it with hemp oil at night, so I won’t be woozy all day.”
The comedian, 74, has actually experienced prostate symptoms for eight years. He alleges that it was only after he stopped using drugs for three years that his condition worsened and led to the diagnosis.
The marijuana activist and supporter of legalization doesn’t blame his years of pot smoking for the condition, “I know it had nothing to do with cannabis. Cannabis is a cure.”
