The walkway leading to Heavy D’s home …

Rapper Heavy D left not only a legacy of music but also some uplifting final words on his Twitter page, penned prior to his sudden death on Tuesday.

The Jamaican-born musician, Dwight Arrington Myers, posted a decidedly hopeful message before heading off to do some shopping. He tweeted, “BE INSPIRED.”

The rap icon never made it back inside his Beverly Hills home after being stricken with respiratory problems on a walkway leading to his front door.

Another of Heavy D’s thought-provoking Twitter posts offered encouragement, “All glory comes from daring to begin. Never stop believing… Magic is just science we don’t understand. Every original idea was considered insanity at first.”

Heavy D appeared in Tower Heist, a film that opened last weekend in theaters across the country. He played the role of a courthouse guard.
