During the Cannes Film Festival last week, the late Heath Ledger‘s final performance in the film The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus was given a not so warm review.
The opening scene in the movie shows the actor hanging from the London Bridge by a rope around his neck. The film was written by Terry Gilliam and is being described as slim, incomprehensible, and desperately unconvincing by Britian’s TimesOnline critic James Christopher.
Critics weren’t thrilled with the film; one added that this will clearly be a “fan film”. While most were kind to Ledger, they were but unimpressed with Gilliam.
Johnny Depp, Jude Law and Collin Farrell stepped in to fill Ledger’s shoes after he tragically lost his life due to an overdose of prescription medication in January 2008.
