Elizabeth Harper Kucinich is the 30 years old British wife of former Democratic presidential candidate Dennis Kucinich. She was born and raised in London and has a very impressive resume that predates her relationship with the 61 year old Congressman.

In 1996 she went to India to work as a volunteer in one of Mother Teresa‘s homes for poor children. After earning her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees, she went to Tanzania for sixteen months to assist with regional development. She followed that up with a stint with the British Red Cross. She eventually migrated to Chicago where she met her husband. She married the congressman in his hometown of Cleveland, Ohio in 2005.

The congressman’s wife hit the campaign trail with her husband, who made a run for the Democratic presidential nomination. She gained some notoriety on the stump for her pierced tongue. When asked if she would wear the silver stud when she became First Lady, she said that it was too much a part of her to remove it.

Dennis Kucinich, a member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Ohio, pulled out of the presidential race on January 24, 2008. He also had a brief run in the 2004 primary race.
