Season 14 semi-finalists …
The semi-final elimination on Dancing with the Stars Tuesday night was nerve wracking for all four celebrity contestants and their pro partners.
At the top of the hour ABC host Tom Bergeron introduced the remaining dance pairs in order of their leaderboard finish Monday night: Maria Menounos & Derek Hough, William Levy & Cheryl Burke, Donald Driver & Peta Murgatroyd, Katherine Jenkins & Mark Ballas.
During Monday night’s performance round Jenkins suffered a back spasm at the end of her sexy Salsa routine – video here. The judges deducted points for the snafu and she and Ballas received the lowest composite score of the evening.
Katherine fully expected to be eliminated and was elated that America voted her into the finals. It was a slam dunk for Levy and Burke too.
Donald Driver was supported Monday night by members of the Green Bay Packers organization that included Clay Matthews, Aaron Rodgers and coach Mike McCarthy – pics and video.
In the end it came down to Maria Menounos and Donald Driver as the celebrities in jeopardy.
Just before the final announcement Tom Bergeron stated the obvious: “No matter which way this goes it’s gonna suck.”
Maria and Derek, the highest scoring couple of the week, were given the shocking news that they did not make it into the finals.
