It looks like the American Idol top 11 finalists will be paid handsomely during the upcoming American Idol Live! Tour 2011.
This year’s crop of talented singers will earn $1,000 per concert venue – for a tidy sum of $47,000. The extended gig kicks off on July 6th in Salt Lake City and winds down on September 10th in Rochester, New York.
Each one of the top 11 will get an opportunity to perform at least once in front of their hometown fans — a calculated move to generate healthy ticket sales.
The group will get a total of twenty days off during the grueling 10-week tour, an average of two days a week. On their off days, each performer will get $50 for spending money. The extra $1,000 over the course of the tour will bring their summer earnings to $48,000, or nearly $5,000 a week … not bad.
We find it interesting to note that Scotty McCreery is prominently featured at the top of the poster pyramid. Check out a photo comparison between this likeable teen and the mascot from Mad magazine – there is a striking resemblance.
The country boy and Lauren Alaina will go head-to-head on Wednesday night to see who becomes the next American Idol. Will the 17-year-old beat out the 16-year-old beauty? Check out this week’s amazing video performances HERE.
