Elsa and Anna’s appearance in Storybrooke is proving to be less and less about cashing in on the success of Frozen and more about how these two organically fit into the mythology there as Once Upon a Time Season 4 Episode 2 reveals.
Yes, Elsa has erected the ice walls around Storybrooke to protect herself from being hurt, even if she says it’s to keep anyone from leaving until she can find her sister, but their connection to the other characters runs much more deeply than that.
Anna and David knew each other once upon a time when David was a shepherd. Emma and Elsa are also bonding which means the Frozen sisters will be sticking around for quite some time.
We’ll have to watch Once Upon a Time online to see just how Emma and Elsa’s relationship progresses. Does Elsa hold the secret to Emma’s powers?
That’s a mystery Emma’s trying to solve. And speaking of mysteries, David sussing out Hook’s intentions while the two tried to rescue Emma from inside Storybrooke’s ice walls was cute.
Hook’s (probably) not going anywhere, David. Emma’s safe.
The literal ice walls weren’t the only ones which had to be broken down last night. Regina has put up walls to guard her heart and Henry is determined to break through them.
Will he succeed? Time will tell.
