In the wake of Robin Williams’ death on Monday, new details are beginning to emerge regarding the tragedy as tributes pour in from around the world.

It has been confirmed, as was initially reported, that the actor committed suicide and did not leave a note. An autopsy will be performed at some point soon.

He reportedly hanged himself. Williams was 63 years old.

Soon after the sad news of Robin’s passing became public knowledge, tributes began pouring in from fans, colleagues and friends across the world.

No one is taking it harder than his family, however.

His wife, Susan Schneider, released a statement asking for privacy and to remember “the countless moments of joy and laughter [Williams] gave to millions.”

Williams and Scheider wed in 2011. He is survived by three children from two previous marriages, including daughter Zelda, who paid tribute to him.

Quoting a passage from The Little Prince and writing on Twitter, she wrote, “You – you alone will have the stars as no one else has them… In one of the stars I shall be living.”

“In one of them I shall be laughing. And so it will be as if all the stars were laughing, when you look at the sky at night… You – only you will have stars that can laugh.”

Moving. His recent television daughter, Sarah Michelle Gellar, was one of many fans of the great comedian, calling Robin “the father I always dreamed I had.”

Earlier this summer, Williams checked into rehab, having fallen into a state of deep depression. It appears he may never have come out of that darkness.

The actor struggled with cocaine and alcohol abuse in the early 1980s, which he was open about; Robin had been sober for decades until a recent relapse.
