We have a new Dancing with the Stars romance to report between dance pros Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Peta Murgatroyd.
The 32-year-old Russian dancer lost his celebrity partner Melissa Gilbert during last week’s elimination and has turned to the lovely Peta for solace.
New Zealand born Murgatroyd is still very much in the competition with this season’s popular athlete, Green Bay Packer wide receiver Donald Driver.
According to a DWTS insider, “Maks and Peta are really happy together and having a great time. She has had a crush on him for a long time.”
Chmerkovskiy was previously engaged to fellow Russian pro Karina Smirnoff until they ended things in September 2009.
Ironically Karina called off a second engagement to MLB pitcher Brad Penny in December 2011 just one month before they were to have exchanged vows in a destination wedding. She opted out to focus all of her attention on her DWTS partner J.R. Martinez. The gamble paid off and they won season 13.
