Mark Wahlberg is in damage control mode after public outrage over comments he made in an interview with Men’s Journal, claiming he could have changed history had he not narrowly missed taking the doomed Boston to L.A. flight on 9/11.
“If I was on that plane with my kids, it wouldn’t have went down like it id. There would have been a lot of blood in that first-class cabin and then me saying, ‘OK, we’re going to land somewhere safely, don’t worry,'” the actor boldly stated in the interview.
This is not the first time the actor has talked about narrowly avoiding boarding the ill-fated Flight 93 after altering his flight plans to Toronto.
“We certainly would have tried to do something to fight,” he said in a 2006 interview. “I’ve had probably 50 dreams about it.”
Wahlberg has issued an apology, telling TMZ, “To speculate about such a situation is ridiculous to begin with.”
Ummmm, ya think? It’s easy to speculate what you would have done after turning it over and over in your action movie hero brain for years. Life is no Nintendo game Marky Mark.
He then added,”I deeply apologize to the families of the victims that my answer came off as insensitive, it was certainly not my intention.”
