Julianne Hough, a professional ballroom performer of DWTS fame, set out for Nashville two years ago to try her luck as a country singer and actress.

After touring with Brad Paisley, Toby Keith and George Strait, Hough appearing as a dancer in the Cher movie Burlesque.

Her big break came when the gorgeous blonde landed the lead role in the remake of the Paramount film Footloose, opposite Kenny Wormald. Supporting actors include Dennis Quaid and Andie MacDowell.

The plot involves city kid Ren McCormack, who moves from Boston to live with his uncle and aunt in Bomont after his mother’s death from leukemia. The old-fashioned and uptight small town in Georgia brings out the rebel in him because of a strict ban on dancing and rock music.

Julianne has been making the rounds to promote the flick that opens in theaters on Friday, October 14. She returned to DWTS Tuesday night to perform the dance sequence from the the upbeat country version of the original Footloose soundtrack covered by Blake Shelton.
