Jennifer Hudson was not among the star-studded entertainers who performed at the Michael Forever tribute concert in Wales on Saturday night.
The Academy Award winning actress and recording artist bailed on the tribute producers, claiming that she didn’t have enough time to prepare for the show.
Her rep told TMZ that she hadn’t received the music in time and the MJ tribute production staff totally understood that she had no choice but to back out.
That isn’t what the website discovered when they checked with show producers. It appears that everyone had the same amount of time to prepare for the show, and the powers-that-be were NOT happy about her last minute decision to blow off the high-profile gig. The kicker is that the singer signed a contract and was paid in advance.
The Weight Watchers spokeswoman tweeted yesterday, “To my uk fans that were coming to the mj show in wales. I will not longer be attending due to major production issues.”
She continued, “I would have thought they would have informed you by now, so since they did not, I am. Thank u for your support.”
So what has Hudson been so busy doing that has kept her from preparing? She was in Europe last week for the Paris Fashion Week runway shows.
Christina Aguilera did honor her contract, though her decision to rock a leotard turned out to be a major fashion misstep.
