Paul McCartney and Nancy Shevell spent a busy few days leading up to their wedding. On Sunday the beaming newlyweds greeted the gathering crowd outside of the London town hall where they exchanging their vows on October 9.

The bride wore a flower in her hair and long-sleeved, v-neck, knee-length ivory dress and shoes that were designed by her new stepdaughter, famed fashion designer Stella McCartney. The groom wore a navy blue suit.

Serving as flower girl was Paul’s youngest daughter Beatrice, 7. Wedding guests included Barbara Walters, Ringo Starr and Barbara Bach and George Harrison’s widow Olivia Harrison.

The “cute” Beatle and his fiancee were photographed on Saturday evening exiting The Liberal Jewish Synagogue in St. Johns Wood, where they spent two hours.

McCartney’s residence has been transformed over the past few days by wedding vendors who have erected structures just inside the stone fronted entrance gate, with walkways leading to the reception area in back.

Preparations included setting up a gazebo, the delivery and placement of 10 tables, 135 chairs, and sound equipment. Trucks made multiple deliveries on Saturday. Among the items were bouquets of yellow roses, and bags of ice.

The couple wed at London’s Old Marylebone Town Hall with 30 guests in attendance. The wedding party then returned to the McCartney residence for a garden party.

Paul, 69, and Nancy, 51, a New York heiress, wanted the event to be “low-key, understated and fueled by goodwill.”

This will be his third marriage and her second. Earlier in the week the couple sat in the front row during the Paris Fashion Week runway show featuring the designs of Stella McCartney.
