Lady Gaga’s “You and I” video, which was slated to debut on MTV Thursday, leaked onto the net Tuesday, prompting Gaga to reveal the video herself via Twitter.
“F***”
“THURS”
“DAY” Gaga tweeted, adding, “You must love all + every part of me, as must I, for this complex + incomprehensible force to be true,” along with the clip.
Featuring her alternate personae, Italian mechanic Jo Calderone and her mermaid self Yuyi, Gaga says the premise of the video is her traveling from New York to Nebraska on foot to get her boyfriend back.
“While the “I would walk 500 miles” theme comes through in the video’s initial moments, also in the mix are: torture contraptions, mermaid sex, a wedding, bondage in a barn, an ice cream truck, and to top it all off, “Children of the Corn” and religious overtones thrown in for good measure. This might just be the all-time weirdest representation of the Cornhusker state,” writes Billboard.
