French actor Gerard Depardieu obviously isn’t fully versed in proper airplane etiquette. On Tuesday, the filmmaker urinated in the main cabin of a plane while fellow passengers watched in stunned silence.
While the jet was sitting on the tarmac, the Golden Globe winning actor was told that he would have to wait 15 minutes to use the restrooms. Depardieu stood up, unzipped his pants, and proceeded to urinate on the carpet in the main aisle.
The flight, which had been slightly delayed from Paris, was bound for Dublin. A spokesperson for the Air France-KLM subsidiary told AFP, “I will only confirm that he, in effect, urinated on the plane.”
The airline tweeted about the incident, “As you may have seen on the news, we are busy mopping the floor of one of our planes this morning. We’d also like to remind all passengers that our planes are fully equipped with toilet facilities.”
The plane returned to the gate for cleaning, which delayed the flight an additional two hours. No word on whether any action will be taken against the actor or whether he was hammered…
