It was elimination night on the ABC hit reality show Dancing with the Stars. The Final Four celebrity contestants danced to near exhaustion on Monday, after performing a record three routines.
There were a few shocking moments last night. DWTS producers aired the graphic footage of pro dancer Kym Johnson‘s rehearsal injury from last Friday. Her partner, NFL wide receiver Hines Ward, admitted he lost sleep over the fact that Kym could easily have suffered a significant spinal injury. They chalked up six perfect 10’s for their Tango and Salsa.
Ralph Macchio and Karina Smirnoff were blasted by the judges for their sexy Salsa. Bruno’s controversial comments, directed at the pro, were bleeped by network censors. He also suggested that the former Karate Kid was wearing an oversized diaper. The duo had quite a bit to say about the slights after the show.
Former Cheers actress Kirstie Alley and her pro partner Maks Chmerkovskiy enjoyed a relatively successful night. They ended up scoring respectable 9’s across the board for their Viennese Waltz and Paso Doble.
The big winners last night were Disney star Chelsea Kane and her pro partner Mark Ballas. They fell behind Hines & Kym by two points for their first two performance. They beat out the field in a special Winner Take All Cha Cha Cha competition — gaining an additional 15 points for the night.
Ralph Macchio and his pro partner Karina Smirnoff were eliminated.
The Top 3 couples heading to the DWTS Finale next week are Chelsea & Mark, Kirstie & Maks and Hines & Kym.
