Teams ASAP and Backbone were tasked this week with putting together a cooking demonstration with three occasion-meals featuring Omaha Steaks products. They were also instructed to feature a Variety Pack from the expansive line of food items.
The women were led by Playboy Playmate Hope Dworaczyk and the men were between a rock and a hard place with crazy Gary Busey at the helm.
Despite what appeared at first to be a leadership takeover by Star Jones, the women got their assignments and mounted a strong effort.
NeNe Leakes may well have been a contender to get the boot if the women had landed back in the Boardroom. During the cooking segment, the reality star demonstrated how to grill seafood. She inadvertently shortened the brand name to Omaha and said it multiple times in a sing song mantra. The Omaha Steaks executives visibly cringed.
Before the women were proclaimed the winners and sent back to their suite, Trump referred to Leakes is a trouble maker, a label that didn’t sit well. Star Jones paid the sulking celeb lip service later, whispering soothing reassurances to the Real Housewives of Atlanta diva.
In an interview that took place after the season was filmed, Hope Dworaczyk revealed: “I liked NeNe a lot until I had to be her boss. One minute she was crying and opening up about herself and sharing something about the past that was very personal, and the next minute, she’s yelling. I think you can call it unstable.”
Another tidbit that has slipped out since filming is that Star Jones wanted a bodyguard to protect her from Leakes. Hope said: “It was out of control. I think if I had been yelled at and attacked the way NeNe got in Star’s face, I would have wanted a bodyguard, too.”
Busey’s team floundered like a rudderless ship. Meat Loaf was assigned all of the cooking duties without having any background. John Rich and Lil Jon, who both know their way around a kitchen, were under-utilized. In an off camera moment, Gary told the country singer: “Shut up boy and listen.”
Rich categorized Busey’s leadership as “a catastrophic collapse of time management.” Their presentation did not have the benefit of a rehearsal and it was obvious that they had lost by a landslide. The executives appreciated the rocker’s stage presence during the demo and could see him being a spokesman in a future ad, but Busey’s narration was beyond pathetic.
Rich was still whining about the “boy” slight when he got to the Boardroom but got little sympathy. Meat Loaf seemed on the verge of collapse by the hour of reckoning with Trump. He was unable to put three words together out of extreme frustration.
Lil Jon, whose main task was to cut up little pieces of paper and number them, told Trump: “Gary was orbiting in outer space for the last two days.”
Busey couldn’t mount a credible defense to save his butt and wasn’t willing to throw any of his teammates under the bus. Just last week Trump warned Gary: “You better shape up and you better watch your mouth.” It must have killed the ratings conscious Trump to have to get rid of the colorful celeb but he had no choice but to send Gary packing.
