On World AIDS Day, December 1, many A-list celebrities quit posting on Twitter and Facebook, vowing to refrain until $1 million was raised for the Buy Life Now campaign. The ban on “tweeting” has finally been lifted because the money has been raised.

In their efforts to raise awareness and funds, Kim Kardashian, Alisha Keys, Justin Timberlake, Serena Williams, Ryan Seacrest and others posed in coffins for the Digital Death campaign – more photos here.

Who was responsible for bringing our favorites back to life? Half of the goal came just today when pharmaceutical mogul and billionaire Stewart Rahr donated $500,000 to the Keep a Child Alive organization.

Ironically, if Kardashian’s 5.5 million followers would have pledged just $1 each, the goal would have been exceed five times over.

This evening Kim tweeted “I’m back from the dead! Thanks so much for all your donations and contributions! I have missed you all so much!!!”

Justin Timberlake tweeted, “Justin Timberlake is alive! We raised $1 mil to help KCA fight AIDS. Thank you so much and never stop buying life.”

The Keep a Child Alive website now declares that Kim Kardashian is alive. Don’t let it stop here–continue to contribute and give life.
