Bollywood film actor/director/producer Manish Acharya was killed Saturday after falling from a horse while on vacation with his family.

The 40-year-old filmmaker was with his wife and two children in Matheran, India, when he fell from the horse, hitting his head. He was rushed to Ambani Hospital in Nerul, and declared dead on arrival.

Acharaya was best known for his 2007 film “Loins of Punjab Presents,” winner of the Best Feature Film Award at NYU 2007 First Run Film Festival.
