Rocker Rod Stewart, the 65-year-old British musician who is in his fifth decade of performing, has a love child that he and his art student girlfriend Susannah Boffey gave up for adoption in 1964.
Sarah Streeter, 46, found out that the famous musician was her biological father when she turned 18 but had very little contact with Rod and his family until three years ago, when they learned that her adoptive mother Evelyn had died.
Stewart told Joy Behar in an interview this week: “Since her mum and dad have died, we’ve tried to come together and be close together, and it’s worked out pretty well. I never felt like I was her dad, because I didn’t take her to school, change her nappies, there was no paternal thing there, but I’m trying.” See the video after the jump below.
Streeter has slowly become part of the singers large family, that includes six other children from various relationships. His current wife, model Penny Lancaster-Stewart married Rod right around the time they welcomed Streeter into their inner circle. Penny is expecting her second baby with the rocker in early 2011.
Rod has two children with his first wife Alana Hamilton: Kimberly, 31, and Sean, 30. He has a daughter with model Kelly Emberg: Ruby, 23. He has two children with his second wife, model Rachel Hunter: Renee, 18, and Liam, 16. Third wife Penny gave birth to Alastair 5 years ago, and is currently pregnant.
Earlier this week, Rod’s son Sean Stewart was arrested on an outstanding warrant.
