Brett Favre spoke to reporters just 24 hours after a closed door meeting with NFL security investigators to talk about sexting allegations. He did not, however, break his silence on the brewing scandal.
The controversial story leaked back in August but didn’t pick up any steam until the week prior to the Monday Night Football contest between the Minnesota Vikings and the New York Jets.
Contrary to what many thought he might say when he addressed the media, his canned response to questions about the sexting allegations was a noncommittal: “That is something that is in the league’s hands and we just have to let that process work itself out.”
There were no admissions of guilt or claims of innocence uttered during Wednesday’s Winter Park press conference. Favre’s primary focus is on the Sunday night game against the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau.
Former New York Jets employee Jenn Sterger reportedly received inappropriate text messages and lewd photos of Favre’s genital area.
Sterger claims that she only shared the photos with friends for laughs at parties and never intended the situation would go viral.
It was reported today that Sterger has hired attorney Joseph Conway from the Long Island law firm of LaRusso and Conway to “pursue any potential remedies that may exist.” She made this move “after much deliberation.”
Favre’s wife Deanna Favre has been silent about the serious allegations but will speak out on Good Morning America Thursday morning – family photos here.
