CNN is reporting that a teenage boy has been arrested in Nashville, Tennessee after it was discovered that he was plotting to hijack an airplane and cause it to crash into a Miley Cyrus concert venue.
An FBI spokesman, George Bolds of Memphis, Tennessee said:
“His stated intent was to hijack the airplane and commit suicide.”
The unnamed suspect had a airline ticket for Louisiana, which is where he allegedly intended to initiate the plot to kill himself. There is speculation that he was targeting Miley Cyrus’ Friday night concert that is slated for Lafayette Cajundome.
The youth was found with handcuffs, duct tape and a length of rope. He planned to overpower the flight crew during his flight to Louisiana. It is unclear how the plot was discovered. He was arrested on a Southwest airlines flight from California to Nashville.
