In the Fall-Winter issue of Pop magazine, Lindsay Lohan talks about life, love and addictions. The interview was conducted before Lohan’s first rehab stint and subsequent DUI and relapse. Her interviewer likens her to a female Robert Downey, Jr.

Here are a few interview excerpts:

On dating older men:

“It’s like I respect the fact that, here, I can have a drink and I can work and I can function. In America I can’t even get a drink. HA! I can go to war but I can’t drink. Like, I understand what an addiction is. Everyone has addictions and there are better ones to have than drinking and such. But I never got that concept. But I respect the discipline that people have. Which is why I think I like the guys that are older. I am a fool for love, I am.”

On being afraid:

“I’m terrified of sleeping alone. And when I do I feel really good. Being alone is good. I love driving alone and I love having alone time in the day. But just at night I don’t like sleeping in a bed alone. Also, because in this industry it’s go, go, go, go, go, go, go. On set and at shoots you’re always with a lot of people. Just to be alone you’re like “Fuck,” and then you’re like ” I don’t even know who to call because I don’t even know who…” like, you know, who your friends are. But do you really? I mean it’s sad. It’s depressing. It’s wearing. But you make it work. And I wouldn’t trade it for anything.”

On AA:

“I went to an AA meeting in Los Angeles and then I went to one here. Just because I like to do things to balance things out and…um, I keep everything in moderation.”

On bloggers:

“They’re so mean. I don’t read them anymore. It’s why I didn’t bring my computer this time. I didn’t bring it for that sole purpose. I was going to go and buy one the other day. I was like, I need to see a computer…”

And finally:

Interviewer: Do you eve wake up in the morning and think how did the life of Lindsay Lohan happen?

Lindsay: “Yeah…(Thinks about this for a minute) Or I wake up and think where am I? Or what happened last night? Or wasn’t so-and-so here?”
