Paula Abdul and boyfriend, Jeff Bratton, have called it quits after a year and a half together.
“Paula and I split in November,” Bratton tells PEOPLE magazine. “It was an amicable thing. But between the final months of X FActor and my responsibilities with Cascine, there was little time for us,” says the record label owner.
Abdul and Bratton met in 2010 while on the same flight. The couple split time between Los Angeles and New York.
“we’re still close,” Bratton says. “And I’ll always be grateful for the time we shared as a couple.”
Last year Abdul made a frantic call to 911 on Valentine’s Day (LISTEN) saying her boyfriend wouldn’t let her out of the car.
A rep for Abdul issued a statement after the 911 call insisting everything was worked out. “Arguments with loved ones are often times heated,” said the rep.
