Dhani Harrison and Solveig Karadottir have announced their engagement. The 33-year-old musician is the son of the late George Harrison, lead guitarist of the iconic Liverpool band The Beatles.
Karadottir, of Icelandic origin, is a former model who is now a practicing psychologist who resides with her fiance in Los Angeles.
The younger Harrison was born during George’s 23-year marriage to Olivia Trinidad Arias Harrison. She became his widow in 2001 when the famous musician died of lung cancer.
Dhani graduated from Brown University the same year his father died. He planned to pursue a career in Aerodynamics but opted instead to follow in his father’s footsteps. He is currently a member of Fistful of Mercy.
The couple plan to wed in June 2012.
