When it comes to her take on Caucasians, Naya Rivera is keeping things clean.

Far too clean, in the Glee star’s opinion.

Rivera expressed a controversial and unusual stance during an appearance this week on The View, sitting at the round table with Rosie O’Donnell and company and randomly saying the following:

"I have to say I have a theory about showering… I think that white people shower a lot more than ethnics. I feel like showering more than once a day or every day is such a white people thing."

Nicolle Wallace laughed in response to Rivera, who attempted to expound on her viewpoint by offering up some personal experience.

"I can say that I am now married to a white man [Ryan Dorsey], and he showers a lot. Like, a lot – two, three times a day. I’m like, ‘What are you doing?’"

Sounds to us like this may be a Ryan Dorsey thing, Naya, not a white people thing.

Following an outbreak of criticism on Twitter (“According to @NayaRivera white people shower more than "ethnic" people. Gotta delete her from this page,” wrote @PoCBeauty), Rivera jumped on social media with a simple message for the haters:

Lighten. Up.

"When you get out of the shower today, get a sense of humor. Love ya!" the actress wrote.

Rivera, of course, is no stranger to giving her opinion. She came out strongly against Kim Kardashian after that ex-sex tape star posed naked for Paper Magazine.

"I normally don’t. But… you’re someone’s mother…" Rivera Tweeted at the time.
