Bristol Palin has finally confirmed that she called off her wedding to Dakota Meyer, which was supposed to have gone down Memorial Day Weekend.
She also skipped the non-wedding party both families awkwardly still attended in Kentucky, opting to stay in her native Alaska with son Tripp.
Her mom, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, revealed the canceled wedding news last week, but Bristol spoke out for the first time yesterday.
“I feel like I need to address the elephant-in-the-room on this blog, since you guys have been with me through thick and thin,” the 24-year-old wrote.
“When I first got engaged, you were the first ones I wanted to tell.”
“I guess you have seen by now that the wedding - that was supposed to happen last weekend - was called off," Bristol Palin confirmed to fans.
"I’m sure you’ve seen this has been all over the media, but this is a painful time for family and friends and I would just really appreciate your prayers."
“I know God’s plan is greater than anything else."
"Tripp and I are in Alaska beginning to rebuild our lives under much different circumstances than anticipated. Thank you for all of your love and support.”
Court records recently revealed that Dakota Meyer married Cassandra Wain in 2008; Bristol initially claimed that she already knew about the marriage.
However, she didn’t walk down the aisle.
She did not explicitly state that the relationship is off, but anytime someone says "rebuild our lives" that certainly carries that implication, no?
For what it's worth, her mother, the ex-GOP V.P. candidate, was reportedly seen loudly arguing with Meyer at the Kentucky BBQ last weekend.
Yes, Sarah Palin actually showed up at this non-wedding soiree and proceeded to get into it with her non-son-in-law for undisclosed reasons.
This after multiple members of the Palin family, Sarah included, were reportedly involved in a rowdy backyard brawl in Alaska last year.
You cannot make this kind of stuff up.
