X-Factor contestant Chris Rene took the stage last week and had viewers eating out of the palm of his hand. The judges were clearly impressed with the trash collector who has struggled with drugs and is fresh out of rehab.
The 70-days-sober singer proved to be a viable contender with his original song, Young Homey, winning over the judges panel.
The contestant admitted that winning the $5 million “would mean the world, but specifically it would mean stability to me and my family.”
Simon Cowell responded, “It’s always my favorite feeling in the world when I sit in this chair and meet a star for the first time. Maybe you need the show, and maybe we need you.”
