Tyler, The Creator was named VMA Best New Artist last night and his response to receiving the Moonman honor was so filled with expletives that he sent the bleep squad into overdrive.

Taylor Lautner and Selena Gomez presented Tyler with his award, and then looked on as the 20-year-old gave his acceptance speech.

“Yo, I’m excited as f— right now, yo,” he said. “I wanted this sh– since I was 9. I’m about to cry. This is for my little brother Earl. He’s not here right now. I really can’t believe I’m here right now. I didn’t write a thank you speech. I don’t know. F—. To all the kids watching, you can do this sh–. Thank you.”

During a backstage post-interview, the artist was shown which artists were leading on the VMA Tweet Tracker and he was at the bottom and Bruno Mars was trending well. Tyler reacted on Twitter with, “**ck I Hate Bruno But That Was Really Good.”

That’s one way to get Twitter to start talking about you. If that was his plan it worked out well because the social site went crazy over his tweet.

We have the acceptance speech below, along with a bizarre follow-up interview video. The newbie comes off as decidedly pompous. Let us know what you think.
