Famed ‘Top Gun’ director Tony Scott, 68, jumped off the Vincent Thomas Bridge in Los Angeles on Sunday after leaving a suicide note in his office.
According to an LAPD spokesperson, the car of the victim was parked near the bridge, where investigators discovered a list of people to contact. He left a detailed suicide note in his office.
Scott was battling inoperable brain cancer at the time of his sudden death, according to several media reports.
A witness indicated the English film maker did not hesitate before taking the deadly plunge into the water. His body was recovered four hours later by the Los Angeles Port Authority with the aid of sonar equipment.
He and his brother Ridley Scott executive produce ‘The Good Wife’ television series.
Tony Scott is survived by his wife, Donna Wilson Scott, and their fraternal twin sons, Frank and Max.
