Saxophone player Tommy Marth died early Monday at his Las Vegas home of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to his head.
The 33-year-old musician’s death has been ruled a suicide according to a spokesman for the Clark County Coroner’s office.
Marth’s bandmates from the rock group The Killers posted a message on their Twitter page in honor Marth:
Marth played sax on live tours between 2008 and 2010 and appeared on their albums Sam’s Town and Day & Age.
Band members include lead singer Brandon Flowers, guitarist Dave Keuning, bassist Mark Stoermer and drummer Ronnie Vannucci.
Musician and photographer Corlene Byrd said, “I’m not sure it’s hit me yet. He was an amazing person. He was one of the easiest people to be silly with.”
