Sir Elton John and David Furnish are new parents …
Elton John and his partner David Furnish became new parents with the birth of their son on Christmas day. The boy will be named Zachary Jackson Levon Furnish-John.
The child was born in California to a surrogate mother. He weighed 7 pounds, 15 ounces and was 22 inches long. The mother’s identity will remain undisclosed to protect her request for privacy.
The proud new parents issued a joint statement: “We are overwhelmed with happiness and joy at this very special moment. Zachary is healthy and doing really well, and we are very proud and happy parents.”
John, 62, and Furnish, 48, were married in 2005 after a 12 year relationship.
Another baby boy born on Christmas is the new son of musician Alanis Morissette and her husband MC Souleye.
