Bon Jovi musician Richie Sambora, exhausted and off the wagon, has decided to check into a rehab facility to regain his sobriety. He will temporarily leave the group’s highly successful Circle Tour.
There has been no word yet on what the band will do in the short term, but the members are reportedly supportive of Richie’s rehab decision. The Circle Tour has a full schedule over the next month in the U.S., followed by a European leg beginning in June.
The talented rock guitarist has struggled with alcoholism. He sought treatment in 2007 at rehab facility Cirque Lodge in Utah, following the breakup of his marriage.
A year later he was pulled over after a police officer observed his car weaving on the road. He was arrested for DUI, with his 10-year-old daughter as witness.
Sambora was married to actress Heather Locklear until the union ended three years ago. Their daughter, Ava Sambora, now 13, has begun an early career in modeling. Her parents were on hand for her debut runway show last year – photos here.
A source told RadarOnline: “Richie recently has been drinking too much, and wants to get his life together. He has had a busy year. It was a culmination of all the things that overloaded his life and finally he realized he needed to take care of himself.”
