Legendary tenor Luciano Pavarotti passed away at his home in Modeno, Italy on Thursday after a battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 71 years old.
Reflecting on his life, Pavarotti said:
“It’s not to make myself popular, It’s to make the world of opera popular. I think it’s the certain way to give back what God gave to me — the only way — please as many people as possible.”
