Reese Witherspoon was out jogging in Santa Monica on Wednesday when she was hit by a car. The actress was transported to an area hospital where she was treated and released.

The driver who ran into the actress was an 84-year-old woman. Her motor vehicle was estimated to be traveling 20 mph at the time of the accident. According to the Santa Monica Police Department, the elderly female was issued a ticket for failure to yield to a pedestrian.

The 35-year-old Academy Award winning actress, for her portrayal of June Carter Cash in Walk the Line, received only minor injuries.

Her rep spoke with ET and said, “Thankfully, Reese seems to be on the mend already and is currently back home and resting.”

Reese married talent agent Jim Toth in March 2011. She has two children from a previous marriage, Ava and Deacon.
